Boban Marković
Hungary is my second home
A documentary film through music, friendship, and gastronomy — from Serbia to Szentendre.
The Story of the Film
A Story of music and friendship
What connects one of the world’s most renowned brass musicians to Hungary?
The documentary unfolds along two storylines: on one hand, it takes us back to the Serbian roots — to Vladičin Han and the legendary Guča Festival, where Boban received the title of “First Trumpet” and became an ambassador of the festival.
On the other hand, it reveals the Hungarian connections: the past and present of the Serbian community in Szentendre, a concert history spanning from Fonó to the Sziget Festival, and the friendships that define Boban’s life — including Palya Bea, Branka Básits, and Csaba Káel.
The film also reveals the person behind the musician and the family dynasty: from his ancestors to his son Marko, and on to the youngest generation, who have already taken up the trumpet themselves.
